Herbert L. Samworth, Th.D.

Dr. Herb Samworth served as Dean of Crown Seminary in Tennessee until 2017. Formerly the curator of the Van Kampen Collection at the Holy Land Experience in Florida, Dr. Samworth earned his doctorate in theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. He teaches in national and international institutions.

Previously a lecturer/researcher at the Holy Land Experience and a part of Sola Scriptura, Dr. Samworth was also a guest lecturer at Reformed Theological Seminary, Torchbearers’ School in Holsbybrunn, Sweden, Baptist College of Florida, and Luther Rice Bible College and Seminary. He was a missionary in Peru for five years and pastored for 23 years in Pennsylvania involving himself in all aspects of church life such as preaching, teaching, counseling, administration, etc.

Dr. Samworth is considered an authority on ecclesiastical history and also has a special interest in American Colonial History. He is a member of the Tyndale Society and has maintained his interest in missions by serving as a board member of The Evangelical Alliance Mission. Dr. Samworth has written many articles published by Sola Scriptura and The Scriptorium that deal with subjects of Church History and Theology.
